Recently the Trust encountered a disturbing event when an unknown body was discovered in a supposed vacant grave in the General Cemetery. This unfortunately occurred on the day of a funeral of a loved one and caused immense distress to this family at their time of grief. An alternative plot was found for this burial.

This unfortunate event highlighted the need for the Trust to investigate all reserved plots in the General Cemetery. If you have a reserved plot or know of someone with a reserved plot, please contact the cemetery immediately.
